I was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Big granite boulders around us and a reputation as being the area with the most lightning strikes on the planet.

So.. I'd say there is a connection, but not sure what.

Well, the thing is that the granite's been there all along. If all this lightning is something fairly new I can't see how the granite would be a factor.
Lightning zapping lightbulbs-that's a little freaky.
